Strings in the Earth and Air was commissioned by the Chamber Orchestra of the European Union, and first performed by them under the direction of Lavard Skou Larsen on 4th March, 2000 in Enniskillen. The composed acknowledges the financial assistance of the Arts Council of Ireland in composing the work.
