Piano Étude IV was composed in 2021 for Daniel Browell, to whom it is dedicated. It is titled ‘Loinnir’, an old Irish word with shades of meaning ranging from light and brightness to lustre and radiance. With its washes and flurries of sound, the shimmer of sunlight on the sea provides the most persistent image in Piano Étude IV.
Piano Étude V ‘Canon’ was composed in 2021 for Isabelle O’ Connell to whom it is dedicated.
